Hello, my name is Cleocatra. I was in an international competition called the First Annual URSA Awards. My creator was invited to join the Bears and Buds group in March, and, since she doesn't make many bears, I have to be one of the buds. I was one of the top five finalists for my needle felting (described below) group! The first vote got me nominated and then I needed your help again to see where I ended up. With all your help, I ended up in fourth place! The competition was really outstanding and, since we are not known as bear artists, and are very new to all of this, I think we did very well. I say we because it would not have happened without your votes! Thank you so much and we are looking forward to the 2007 URSA Competition. |

Needle felting is taking wool or any other fiber, really, and poking it with a special needle that has barbs on it until you make a critter, purse, hat, slippers or just about anything you would like. If you would like to see some of my other creations, you can go to the link below. I pride myself on making my pieces entirely of wool with no substructures inside of them. Even the eyes are wool with just a touch of Angelina in them to give them a little life. Have fun with the voting and exploring this new craft! Linda Martin |
